Raising awareness and promoting debate in a community independent fashion around concerns with the proposed development of the “Coom Green Energy Park”, a joint venture between Brookfield Renewable Ireland and Coillte with draft scope for a 27-mast wind turbine farm, solar power generation and battery storage and grid connection facilities in the Nagle Mountains.
This group is NOT opposed to the principles of renewable energy.
But such developments must be done in a fair and sustainable way without detrimental impact to any individual, community, or ecological entity.

Described by the developers as being near the Bottlehill and Glannasack areas, the local communities affected by this proposal are in no particular order:
– Mourneabbey
– Glenville
– Killavullen
– Carrignavar
– Whitechurch
– Grenagh
